After using optical fiber, the length of the MP-bus network can be as long as dozens of kilometers and the stability of the network can be maintained.
MP-OPT485 is often used as a gateway between optical fiber and MP-bus network smart devices. After receiving the RS485 commands from the MP-bus network, MP-OPT485 converts the RS485 commands into a corresponding optical signal, and transmits it to the other end in the optical fiber, another MP-OPT485 at the other end of the optical fiber converts the optical signal into an RS485 signal to the MP-bus device.
